THE STORY OF RABBIT CATCHERS FARM

A little about our farm.

Owned by Matthew and Natalie we are a small holding with around 18acres. We were given the opportunity to purchase the land from our friends Mr & Mrs Parker, we already had our horses here on livery and we fell in love with it. Since purchasing the plot we’ve worked hard to bring the farm back to life, laying hedges and sowing wild flower seeds, the work is endless, however, we’ve never seen so much wildlife enjoying the land. From bees and butterflies to the regularly seen buck deer who we have nicknamed BuckyDoo. We see him almost daily he is so use to us now he just carries on grazing.
We now have a yard full of liveries.  From retired racehorses to laminitic ponies that require constant round the clock care, we treat them as if they are our own and do our best to provide them with a natural environment. Our sheep you’ll see around, they are usually left to free range, Shadow, Treacle, William, Jack and Jill (yes they all have names!)  will make you feel very loved, have you ever experienced a sheep hug? They are unbelievably affectionate!  The pygmy goats are in the paddock by the main gates. They aren’t allowed to free range.. they just cause absolute mayhem!! Harry, Ronald, Nelly, Tina Tom and Tim you can waste hours just watching these ratbags play! And yes they really do bounce on the trampoline!!! Also our Kunekune pigs Binky and Bonnie, they are hilarious and happy to show you their party tricks! If you’d like to meet the animals just let us know, we will let you know if we have lambs to bottle feed!  We are a certified Freedom Camping Site open to members and non members, if you’d like to become a member let us know. We have also teamed up with Dorset Hideaways. The Warren and The Nest are spacious with everything you need for your stay, our location unbeatable and will do our best to make your stay easy and satisfying.
